YouTube Music's 'Now Playing' screen gets a fresh new look
YouTube Music just rolled out a major redesign for its "Now Playing" screen on Android and iOS.
No need to update your app—this change comes via a server-side update.
The refreshed layout makes it easier to see track info, use playback controls, and quickly save or share songs.
What's changed?
The song title and artist now sit right at the top, and tapping the song title brings up related content.
Playback controls like shuffle, skip, play/pause, and repeat are grouped neatly below, followed by a rounded progress bar that becomes thicker when you scrub through a track.
New action carousel & queue view
All your favorite actions—like thumbs up/down, comments, saving tracks, lyrics, sharing, downloads—are now in one swipeable row under the progress bar.
The old bottom tabs are gone; instead there's a new drag-up "Up Next" panel showing what's coming in your playlist or album.
If you don't see the update yet, try force-stopping the app from settings to trigger it.
