2019-20 Football Season: Here are top transfers so far

The fans, across the globe, are gearing up for another thrilling club football season. In the same light, the clubs have started their preparations by acquiring fresh talent, as they look to improve their chances to clinch a silverware. While the transfer window is yet to close officially, we take a look at the top transfers which have happened so far.

The million dollar man from Belgium

Eden Hazard has been on a roll for Chelsea ever since he joined them in 2012-13. In the last seven seasons, he scored 110 goals in 353 appearances and has been Chelsea's go-to man. His six titles at the club were impressive enough to draw Real Madrid's attention. They invested around €100 million, making him the most expensive transfer so far this season.

Bayern Munich claim a defender worth €80 million

As Madrid splashed the highest amount this season, Bayern Munich did not stay behind, as they roped in a defender for a whopping €80 million. Lucas Hernandez, who was one of the top defenders for Atletico, played five seasons with the club, appearing in 110 games. He also won three titles, as he jumped the ship in hope of more game time.

Madrid splash money for the Serbian

Madrid continued their spending spree as they targeted Serbian striker Luka Jovic. Jovic, who was playing for Eintracht Frankfurt in Bundesliga, had a good stint there, scoring 36 goals in 75 matches. He also won the DFB-Pokal in 2017-18, a great honor for a club like Frankfurt. All this made him a Madrid target as they splashed €60 million to acquire his services.

€45 million for the Brazilian defender

There was no stopping Madrid as they wanted to strengthen their defense, and Brazilian defender Eder Militao was their next acquisition. Having joined Porto last season, he played 43 games for the side, and even scored five goals. Moreover, he was the Primeira Liga Defender for fours months in a row. No wonder Madrid splashed €50 million for him.

Madrid shell it out for a Frenchman as well

Madrid did not stop after two strikers and a defender, as they switched their attention to the highly rated French defender Ferland Mendy. Mendy has been the top defender for Lyon ever since he joined in 2017-18. He also made to the Ligue 1 Team of the Year in 2017-18 and 2018-19. Enough for Madrid to shell out north of €40 million.
