India's 23-year-old boxer Lovlina Borgohain lost the women's flyweight category in the semis at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.She was beaten 5-0 by world champion and current world number one Busenaz Surmeneli of Turkey. Lovlina gets the bronze medal for India post her defeat.
Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra earned a direct qualification into the finals with a stunning throw of 86.65m on his first attempt. Shivpal Singh, the other Indian in the fray bowed out in the qualification stage.
Ravi Dahiya wins on technical superiority t beat Bulgaria's Georgi Vangelov 14-4 in men's freestyle 57kg quarter-final. He will take on Kazakhstan's Nurislam Sanayev in the semis later today.
Indian wrestler Deepak Punia wins his quarter-final bout, beats China's Lin Zushen 6-3. He is into the 86kg semis.
