The Indian cricket team managed to beat West Indies in the second and final Test to clinch the two-match series 2-0. Windies, who needed 468 runs to win the Test, resumed Day 4 at 45/2. Although they fared better than the first innings, a win was far away from their reach. India completed a stunning win. Here are the records broken.

Kohli

Kohli is India's most successful Test captain

Virat Kohli became the most successful Test captain of India. This was his 28th Test win as skipper. Kohli went past MS Dhoni's tally of 27. The 30-year-old scored 76 runs in the first innings. This was his 22nd career Test fifty. He was dismissed for a golden duck in the second innings. This was Kohli's fourth career golden duck in Test cricket.

Vihari

Ton-up Vihari etches his name in history books

India's middle order batsman Hanuma Vihari scored a superb 111 in the first innings. It was his maiden career Test century. He became only the ninth Indian cricketer to slam a century at the Sabina Park, Kingston in Jamaica. Vihari also amassed a 76-ball unbeaten 53 in the second innings. This was his third consecutive fifty-plus score in the series.

Shami & Ishant

Shami scripts a special landmark, Ishant goes past Kapil

Mohammed Shami went past 150 wickets in Test cricket (151). He became the 15th Indian bowler to go past this figure. Ishant Sharma surpassed Kapil Dev to become the most successful Indian pacer outside Asia. Kapil had 155 scalps in 45 Tests. Ishant, who was tied with Kapil, now has 158 wickets outside Asia. He also raced to 278 career Test scalps.

Bumrah

Bumrah third Indian to claim a Test hat-trick

Jasprit Bumrah took 6/27 in the first innings. This was his best figures in an innings. Bumrah created history by becoming the third Indian to claim a hat-trick in Test cricket after Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan. He became the second Asian after Nuwan Zoysa to claim a Test hat-trick outside Asia. He became the third bowler to claim a Test hat-trick in Windies.

Ajinkya Rahane scored an unbeaten 64 in the second innings. This was his 19th career Test fifty. Mayank Agarwal slammed his third career Test fifty. Ravindra Jadeja now has 196 career Test wickets and is four away from the mark of 200. Rishabh Pant broke MS Dhoni's record to be the fastest to 50 dismissals Pant achieved the mark in his 11th Test match..
