He jokingly revealed how his family has responded to him being home full-time. "They just kicked me out, they've had enough of me already," Ashwin joked. He added that he is now fully involved in his children's daily routine stating, "Being part of their daily routine is something I didn't sign up for. But I must admit, I am enjoying quite a bit."

Ashwin, who recently called it quits from international cricket, finished his career as India's second-highest wicket-taker with 765 scalps across formats. Although he retired from international cricket, Ashwin confirmed that he is gearing up for the upcoming IPL season with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He further added, "I am practicing, training with my trainer as IPL is also coming."

Speaking at the BCCI Naman Awards 2025, Ashwin fondly recalled the time he spent playing alongside Sachin Tendulkar. "My dream was to stand next to Sachin Tendulkar and play the game. He described his cricketing journey and added, "For me, the entire journey has been about discovery and rediscovery. I have evolved a lot as a cricketer and an individual."
