    What's the story

Barcelona will look to prove their dominance in Europe when they take to the field in the upcoming season.

Lionel Messi and Co. have won two successive Spanish titles and will be keen to defend the honor.

Further, a focus will be to shed out the disappointing performance in the Champions League in recent seasons.

Here we decode what to expect from Barcelona.

    La Liga

La Liga: Barca enter 2019-20 season as favorites

Barcelona will go into La Liga as the favorites once again. They somehow manage to fend off competition and gain advantage every season.

Barca won two successive La Liga titles with 93 and 87 points respectively.

In the last 10 seasons, the Catalan giants have pocketed seven domestic league titles.

This shows their consistency as well as understanding of the domestic league.

    Attack

Arrival of Griezmann has bolstered Barcelona's attack

The focus, this term, will be on the world class attack comprising of Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann.

Griezmann's capture was one of the most high-profile signings of the summer. The former Atletico Madrid legend will look to link with Messi and Suarez.

Barca also have quality and depth in attack.

Talisman Messi will once again lead the line.

    Mid-field

Barca's mid-field strengthened by Frenkie de Jong

Barcelona have strengthened their mid-field by bringing in Frenkie de Jong from Ajax.

The 22-year-old is one of the rising mid-fielders and could become a pillar for Barca.

He will be helped immensely by experienced campaigners Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal.

The defensive mid-fielder played 52 times for Ajax last term and is touted to take over from Busquets in the future.

    UCL

Can Barca win the UCL 2019-20?

Barcelona will need to turn things around in Champions League this season. The recent disappointments have hurt the side.

The key additions bring that positive factor, but Europe will be a difficult job.

Teams like Liverpool, Juventus and Manchester City could turn out to be the main title contenders.

Manager Ernesto Valverde needs to use all his experience and move forward.

    Our take

Barca need to go all out: Our take

Barcelona are likely to win La Liga once again this term and fend off Madrid rivals Atletico and Real.

The target will also be to win other domestic trophies.

But their main focus will be the Champions League.

Last season's semi-final heartbreak will be running fresh on their minds.

The attacking partnership is something the fans will be keen to follow closely this season.
