Pep Guardiola's Manchester City will be hoping to overturn the 3-0 deficit against Liverpool when the two sides square up at the Etihad in the UEFA Champions League. The math is simple for City, they need to win 4-0 to seal their spot. Meanwhile, Barcelona will lock horns with AS Roma with former leading the tie 4-1. Here is our pre-match report.
City will be needing their A game against the Liverpool side that have gone on to beat them twice this season. The Premier League leaders have lost their last two encounters across all competitions and therefore need to bounce back in style. Sunday's 2-3 loss against rivals Manchester United in the EPL was a big blow. And now they need the confidence back.
City topped Group F taking 15 points from a possible 18. They beat FC Basel over two legs in the Round of 16, but they succumbed to a 1-2 loss at home. The quarters first leg result against Liverpool meant two successive defeats for City.

Liverpool topped Group E after having won three and drawn the same. They overcame FC Porto 5-0 in aggregate in the Round of 16. The win in the first leg against City ensured their unbeaten run in the UCL 2017-18 season so far.
La Liga leaders Barcelona will feel confident ahead of their 2nd leg tie against AS Roma. The Catalans are on the brink of a semis qualification after bowing out last season in the last eight. All eyes will be on talisman Lionel Messi, who has netted 39 goals across all competitions this season. He has six goals in the UCL campaign.
