What's the story

Real Madrid scored two late stunning goals to send Bayern Munich packing out of the UEFA Champions League 2023-24 season. The second-leg clash of the semi-final tie saw Bayern gain a vital lead through Alphonso Davies. Real saw substitute Joselu score two goals right at the death to make it 2-1. Real progressed 4-3 on aggregate and will face Borussia Dortmund in the final.

1st half

How did the first half pan out?

Real Madrid were the better side in the first half. Vinicius Junior's shot from a tight angle bounced back off the inside of the far post as Manuel Neuer denied Rodrygo's shot from the rebound. In the 28th minute, Bayern drew out a fine save from Andrey Lunin. Ahead of half-time, Real once again had Neuer to deny Vinicius' shot from going in.

2nd half

How did the second half pan out?

In the 59th minute, Neuer denied Rodrygo's shot from a free-kick before also denying Vinicius. It was Bayern next, who managed to get into the final third and force Lunin to make a top save. Two minutes later, Davies scored a stunner. Real had a goal ruled out for a foul by Nacho. Later, Neuer's mistake saw Joselu score, who added another in injury-time.
