A South Africa-born New Zealand cricketer known for his power-hitting at the top of the order, Colin Munro is one of the three batsmen to have scored three or more centuries in T20 Internationals. Munro did not light up the domestic cricket circuit until the 2010-11 season. In that season, his performances in first-class cricket and T20s caught the eye of national team selectors. He made his T20I debut against South Africa at the end of 2012. He made his ODI and Test debut in 2013, during the same tour. He had a mixed bag of performances in the tour to South Africa. Although he scored his maiden half-century in his second ODI, his maiden Test match innings ended in a golden duck. That was incidentally Munro's only Test. He became a regular presence in the T20I team after his debut but couldn't ensure his spot on the ODI team. The year 2016 saw Munro picking up his form up a notch in the domestic circuit. This led to him being recalled to the ODI squad. His form in T20s has been on an upward trajectory since 2017 and is one of the leading run-getters in T20s.
