There is a lot happening around the world in cricket and fans have plenty to be excited about. West Indies seized momentum against Sri Lanka in the first Test after a second Test ton by Shane Dowrich. Australia got off to a winning start in England after beating Sussex. Dale Steyn has replaced Amla as Hampshire's overseas player. Here is the cricket round-up.

Steyn eyes a strong show after replacing in-form Amla
Steyn will be available for Hampshire's three County matches this month. After making a comeback from an injury, Steyn will be raring to have a go in the four-day matches for Hampshire. Recently, Steyn conceded 80 runs in his 10-over spell in a match against Somerset. Meanwhile, injured Amla was the leading run-scorer (492) for Hampshire in County Championship this season.

Shane Dowrich excels for Windies at home
West Indian wicket-keeper batsman Shane Dowrich slammed an unbeaten 125 runs off 325 deliveries to help his side post a mammoth 414/8. It was an innings of grit and substance as Dowrich hit 12 boundaries. His ton ensured that West Indies remain on top. In reply, Sri Lanka are 31/3 at stumps on Day Two. Roach, Gabriel and Holder took one wicket each.

Afghanistan thrash Bangladesh 3-0 in T20Is
Afghanistan inflicted a whitewash (3-0) over Bangladesh in T20Is. Afghans clinched a one-run thriller against the Tigers after Rashid Khan defended nine runs off the last over. Afghanistan managed to post 145/6 and in reply, Bangladesh were restricted to 144/6. Rashid finished with figures of 1/24 in his four over-spell. He was awarded the Player of the Series.

Vital win
Australia beat Sussex in practice match
Australia warmed up for the upcoming ODI series against England with a 57-run win over Sussex. Marcus Stoinis was the chief architect for Australia after striking a century. Aaron Finch played well too adding 74 runs with D'Arcy Short before stitching another 93-run stand with Stoinis. Despite being at 167/1, Australia could manage only 277. They bowled Sussex out for 220 runs later on.
