What's the story

Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has raced to his second Test in Test cricket. The Indian dasher reached the three-figure mark on Day 2 of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Jurel operated brilliantly with the lower-order batters and took India's total past 460. He slammed a match-winning fifty in the series opener as well. Here are his stats.

A fine hand from the batter

India were 296/5 when Jurel arrived in the closing moments of the opening day.

He saw off a few balls and resumed on Day 2.

Jurel remained solid throughout, with his only anxious moment coming when Prabath Jayasuriya appealed for leg before wicket after beating his bat with an arm ball.

He added 112 runs with Rishabh Pant (63), taking India past 400.

Jurel touched the three-figure mark in the second session.
