Faf du Plessis appointed RCB's captain: His captaincy stats (T20s)
South African star Faf du Plessis has been appointed the captain of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Bangalore-based franchise informed about the development on Saturday. Faf replaces Virat Kohli, who led the franchise in 140 IPL games. The former has also led South Africa to 40 wins in T20Is. The tally also includes seven half-centuries. He scored 119 against West Indies in 2015 (2nd T20I, Johannesburg). Notably, Faf averaged 54.40 in T20Is in 2015 (as captain).
Faf holds the record for smashing the highest individual score by a South African batter in T20I cricket. His 119-run knock, which came off 56 balls, was studded with 11 fours and 5 sixes.
