What's the story

India's bowlers put on a disciplined display to bundle out New Zealand for just 134 runs in the second ODI at Wellington's Henry Stadium. After a rain delay, Indian captain Shubman Gill opted to bowl first, and his decision paid off as the bowling unit capitalised on overcast conditions to dismantle the Kiwi batting order in the 47-over-per-side game. Leading the Indian attack was Gurnoor Brar, who registered career-best figures of four wickets for 30 runs in his quota of 10 overs. Here are further details.

Bowling brilliance

Gurnoor leads the attack

The Kiwis never got going as the Indian pacers had reduced them to 23/3 within nine overs.

Meanwhile, Brar opened his account by dismissing Tom Latham on the second ball of the 20th over.

The left-handed batter was caught by Naman Dhir for seven off 22 balls.

On the sixth ball of the same over, Gurnoor then dismissed Glenn Phillips for a four-ball duck.

Batting woes

Daryl Mitchell top-scored for New Zealand

Daryl Mitchell was the only one to put up a fight with a gritty 55 off 104 balls.

Captain Mitchell Santner contributed with 31 runs off 38 balls before being caught by KL Rahul off Brar's bowling.

Rohit Sharma then completed the catch to send Kyle Jamieson packing on the fifth ball of Brar's final over.

A collective show from Indian bowlers

Apart from Brar, Axar Patel, Auqib Nabi, and Anshul Kamboj also took two wickets each.

Arshdeep Singh went wicketless but bowled with discipline to deny runs (0/16 in 7 overs).

The stellar performance by India's young pace attack saw them bowl out the hosts for just 134 runs in 41 overs.

The Indian quicks were on a roll in the series opener as well, which saw the hosts get bundled out for 185.
