    What's the story

England skipper Harry Kane toppled Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo to become the leading scorer at FIFA World Cup 2018.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker scored a hat-trick in England's 6-1 win over Panama in a crucial Group G encounter on Sunday.

The emphatic victory helped England qualify for the knock-out stages alongside Belgium.

Here is more on the same.

    Golden Boot

Kane leads the charge with five goals

Harry Kane has five goals from two matches and leads the proceedings as the top scorer in the 2018 World Cup.

He overtook Belgium's Romelu Lukaku (4) and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo (4).

The race for the Golden Boot has now intensified.

Following these 3 strikers are Russian Denis Cheryshev and Diego Costa of Spain with 3 goals each.

    Fantastic Kane

Kane and records go hand in hand

Harry Kane has had five shots on target in the 2018 World Cup and has netted five already.

He also became the first player to score a brace in his first two World Cup appearances since Poland's Grzegorz Lato in 1974.

Kane's goals helped England score 4+ goals in a World Cup since 1966.

His penalty was the 1st converted by England since 2002.
