IPL 2018: List of top matches between KKR and RCB
KKR and RCB have played some of the best matches in the IPL so far. The two sides have met each other on 20 occasions with Kolkata boasting the better record of 11 wins as compared to Bangalore's 9. As they lock horns today at the Eden Gardens, here we look at the best encounters between the two sides.
KKR beat RCB by 82 runs in 2017
The last edition of the IPL saw Kohli led Bangalore being bowled out for a meagre 49 and succumb to a 82-run loss to KKR. Batting first, KKR managed to score only 131 with Sunil Narine top scoring with 34 runs to his name. In response, RCB were bundled out for 49 and this is the lowest total recorded in the IPL so far.
RCB beat KKR by 9 wickets in 2016
One of Bangalore's most satisfying victories against Kolkata came in 2016 when the Virat Kohli led outfit thrashed Kolkata by 9 wickets with 8 balls to spare. KKR set RCB a target of 184 with Gambhir and Manish Pandey scoring half-centuries each. In response, Gayle, Kohli and AB de Villiers made a mockery of the target chasing it down with ease.
KKR beat RCB by 140 runs in 2008
Bangalore were thrashed by 140 runs in the first match of the inaugural edition of the IPL. Kolkata scored a massive 222-3 riding on the back of Brendon McCullum's unbeaten 158. In reply, Bangalore managed just 82. RCB were bowled out in the 16th over. This is the third biggest victory in terms of runs in the IPL till date.
