2019 IPL auction: Delhi Capitals ask fans for suggestions

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 auction is set to be held in Jaipur on December 18. Teams were seen retaining most of their core apart from releasing many names in the IPL trade window last month. Delhi Capitals have asked fans for suggestions for the auction, after releasing a host of names. DC go into the auction looking to strengthen big time.

DC went on to announce recently that Shreyas Iyer will continue to lead the side, despite the arrival of Shikhar Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Aussie legend Ricky Ponting will be the head coach. The task for the duo will be to help DC come good this time after a disappointing campaign in IPL 2018.

DC known as Delhi Daredevils for 11 seasons, had acquired several big names in the 11th edition. They decided to rectify their mistakes. DC shipped out 13 players including veteran Gautam Gambhir. 5 foreigners which include the opener Jason Roy and Glenn Maxwell were released. The acquisition of Dhawan was a smart decision, given he adds the composure atop.

DC have a salary cap of Rs. 25.50 crore at their disposal. The franchise can purchase a total of 10 players in the auction. Out of these 10 slots, they can go for seven Indian players and three foreigners. Therefore, an interesting window awaits the team. Fans were asked to name their favorite picks.
