Justin Langer is a former Australian cricketer and cricket coach. The left-handed batsman was born on November 21, 1970, in Western Australia. He was a student of Newman College and Perth College. He was appointed to the position of coach in the Australian men’s national team in May 2018. Langer is prominently known for his opening partnership in Test cricket with former cricketer Mathew Hayden. The batting partnership of the duo is considered as one of the most strong and successful in the history of Test cricket. Langer has played 8 ODIs and 105 Test matches in his cricket career. He has scored 23 Test hundreds as well. Langer has scored maximum First-Class runs (28,382 at 50.23) among Australians. At the age of 19, Langer got selected in the Australian Cricket Academy. The former cricketer rose to fame after his first-class debut in the Sheffield Shield match for Western Australia in 1991-1992. Following the successful match, he made his Test debut for Australia. Apart from cricket, Langer has a keen interest in martial arts too. He has also authored five books on cricket and other genres.
