Hailing from Barbados, the land of fast bowlers who instilled fear in the minds of the batsmen, West Indies cricketer Kemar Roach is a right-arm fast bowler who terrified batsmen at his peak. Although not as tall as many of his predecessors, with his quick arm action, he was able to bowl consistently above 145km/h and, on many occasions, at and above 150km/h. Roach made his international debut in a T20I against Australia in 2008. His ODI debut came in the same year against Bermuda. In his career, Roach made the most impact for West Indies in the longer format. His Test debut came in 2009 against Bangladesh in the middle of player strikes. In his first two Tests, he took 13 wickets, but Roach announced his arrival in style in the 2009-10 Test series against Australia. He troubled the Australian batsmen with his pace and forced Ricky Ponting to retire hurt. In the 2011 World Cup, Roach became only the sixth player to take a hat-trick in the tournament. Although he was hampered by injury at times, he became a constant presence in the West Indies Test side.
