World Cup winner Richa Ghosh felicitated by West Bengal government

Indian women's cricket team star Richa Ghosh has been conferred the prestigious Banga Bhushan award and appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) by the West Bengal government. The announcement was made at a special ceremony held at Eden Gardens on Saturday. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee presented the award and appointment letter to Richa, who was also given a gold chain during the event, as per Sportstar.
Cricketing achievement
Richa scored 34 runs in the final against SA-W
Richa played a key role in India's ICC Women's World Cup victory, scoring 34 runs off 24 balls in the final against South Africa. Her innings helped India post a challenging total of 298/7, which proved too much for South Africa as they were bowled out for 246 runs. Throughout the tournament, Richa scored a total of 235 runs across eight innings at an average of 39.16 and strike rate of 133.52—the highest among Indian batters.
Recognition
CAB honored Richa with a golden bat and ball
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) also honored Richa with a golden bat and ball for her outstanding performance in the Women's World Cup. CAB president Sourav Ganguly praised the 22-year-old cricketer from Siliguri, calling her "Bengal's pride." He expressed hope that she would continue her good work and one day captain the Indian women's team.

I enjoy the pressure, says Richa
As per Sportstar, reflecting on her ability to handle pressure as a finisher, Richa said, "I enjoy the pressure. When I bat at nets, I keep a watch on the time and see how many runs I can score in that specific period." The event was attended by several dignitaries including Bengal women's cricket icon Jhulan Goswami and state Sports Minister Aroop Biswas.
Siliguri
Ghosh returned to hero's welcome in her home town Siliguri
Earlier, Richa's return to her home town Siliguri was celebrated by fans. There were cheers, drums and chants as the 22-year-old wicketkeeper-batter emerged from Bagdogra airport, standing atop an open jeep. Richa went to Baghajatin Park, where a grand felicitation awaited her. "It was my dream to play for India and to lift the World Cup," Richa said, waving to fans.
