IPL 2026, 'opener' Rishabh Pant dismissed early against DC: Watch!
What's the story
In a surprising move, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant opened the batting in their IPL 2026 season opener against Delhi Capitals. However, the gamble didn't pay off as he was dismissed for just seven runs off nine balls. The dismissal came in an unfortunate manner when a dropped catch deflected onto the stumps, leaving him stranded and putting LSG under early pressure. Here's more.
Unfortunate turn
The bizarre dismissal of Pant
The incident that led to Pant's dismissal came in the third over of the match in Lucknow. Mitchell Marsh hit a straight lofted shot off Mukesh Kumar, who couldn't hold onto the ball. It deflected off his hand and hit the stumps, catching Pant well out of his crease. The bizarre nature of his dismissal left head coach Justin Langer disappointed while Pant walked back with a sarcastic smile on his face.
