Star cricketer Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh welcomed a baby girl on Sunday. The news was shared on Instagram by Seema Khan, the wife of actor Sohail Khan and Ritika's cousin. Seema wrote on the photo-sharing app that she became masi (aunt) again and tagged Ritika. Rohit, who was in Australia for the test series, is returning to Mumbai.

The middle-order batsman, who was part of the squad that created history in MCG, Australia, is now returning home to meet his princess. The next test starts on January 3, which Rohit will miss. Notably, Rohit scored a vital half-century in the second test. Sources in the know told TOI that while his absence may hurt, what awaits him is 'bigger and important'.

When Ritika was pregnant, Rohit spoke about it with Australia captain Michael Clarke in a promotional video for Hublot. He had said, "I cannot wait to be a father; it is going to be a game-changing moment in our lives. I am eagerly awaiting the moment of becoming a father. It will be a moment to change our lives."

However, Rohit had also mentioned that his teammates were surprised by the news. His irresponsible behavior made Rohit the center of jokes.
