What's the story

South Africa's veteran speedster Dale Steyn is clearly unhappy after being snubbed for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India next month. The senior cricketer, who announced his decision to retire from Test cricket recently to prolong his limited-overs career, took a dig at the selectors. He also apologized to Virat Kohli. Here are the details.

T20Is

No sign of Steyn in a youthful T20I squad

A 15-member squad for the T20I series against India was named by Cricket South Africa. Quinton de Kock has been given the responsibility to lead the team. It is a youthful squad with the focus on leadership the key in the build-up for the ICC World T20 in 2020. Faf du Plessis was dropped as there was no sign of Steyn as well.

Steyn irked by South African selectors

The selectors didn't mention anything about Steyn and neither clarified on their decision to snub him. This, in turn, irked Steyn who later made it clear that he had made himself available for selection for the T20Is against India. Steyn took to Twitter "I did... Obviously lost my number in the reshuffling of coaching staff, Steyn tweeted. He also apologized to Kohli.
