According to Cricbuzz, India became the second side to record three 250-plus scores in a T20 competition. This was their fourth 250-plus score in 2026, the most in a calendar year. Notably, India scored their 100th six in the tournament. This was the first time that each of the top three batters in a team innings crossed 50 in T20 WC history.

With his blistering knock, Abhishek now has the joint second-fastest half-century for India in T20 World Cup history. His mentor, Yuvraj Singh, holds the overall record (12 balls vs England in 2007, Durban). And KL Rahul hammered an 18-ball fifty against Scotland in the 2021 edition. Only two other players have scored a half-century off fewer than 18 balls in the tournament.

Samson became the third player to score a half-century in the semi-finals and finals of a T20 World Cup edition. He joined Pakistan's Shahid Afridi (in 2009) and India's Virat Kohli (in 2014).
