Five reasons why Liverpool can win the Premier League

Liverpool have taken the Premier League 2019-20 season by storm and have so far been the only side to maintain a 100% win record. They lead the show with 21 points from seven matches so far and are five points above second-placed Manchester City. Although, it's a long season ahead, however, Liverpool have shown this could be the moment. Here's more.

Liverpool are on a stunning run

Liverpool have won 16 straight matches in the Premier League. The run starts from their win against Burnley on March 10, 2019. They won nine matches on the trot in the close of 2018-19 season and this term the results have been perfect. For a team that has made winning a habit, it will be difficult to stop them.

Liverpool's front three players are a manager's delight

Liverpool's front three comprising of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah were exceptional in 2018-19. They ended up scoring 56 goals between them. This season, the three players have amassed 11 goals between them already. Given the understanding they have and the manner in which Liverpool function in attack, these three will be crucial in getting the side past the line more often.

Liverpool have a strong defensive structure

Defensive wise, Liverpool have the resources to stand out and thwart oppositions. They had the meanest defense in 2018-19 after conceding just 22 goals. This season, the Reds have shipped in just five goals and are joint-best alongside Leicester. Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip have been like rocks. Full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson have stuck to their strengths and delivered.

Liverpool's depth in mid-field is laudable

Liverpool have a squad that is rich in quality and depth. The mid-field boasts of variety and there is a lot of versatility on offer. When you talk of the engine on the field, Liverpool's mid-field can produce the goods required to inject a lot of energy. Also, manager Jurgen Klopp's tactical prowess can see his side get past the line more than often.

Desire and hunger could help Liverpool win EPL

Man City are the only side that can challenge Liverpool for the title this season. Last term, the two teams fought till the last day to decide the winner. Champions City have defensive shortcomings and that will test them. Liverpool know that they just have to get their job done. The desire will be there after missing out on the title in 2018-19.
