Elon Musk's 14th child, Seldon Lycurgus, has Punjabi roots

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has welcomed his 14th child into the world. His son, Seldon Lycurgus, is his fourth child with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis. The couple had twins, Strider and Azure, in 2021 and a daughter, Arcadia, in 2024. Zilis announced the birth via an X post on March 1.

Zilis's Punjabi heritage draws attention
The birth of Seldon has brought renewed attention to Zilis's Punjabi roots. Born in Ontario, Canada, Zilis is of mixed descent with her mother being Punjabi Indian and her father Caucasian Canadian. In a 2015 interview with People magazine, she acknowledged her mixed heritage saying, "I pretty much turned out white—I just got the big eyes from the Punjabi side."

Zilis announced the birth of Seldon Lycurgus on social media. "Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia's birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much," she wrote. Musk responded to the announcement with a heart emoji.

Zilis is a Yale University graduate with degrees in economics and philosophy. She has had a distinguished career in the tech industry, having worked at IBM and Bloomberg Beta where she focused on machine intelligence. From 2017 to 2019, Zilis served as a project director for Tesla's Autopilot team. Currently, she is the director of operations and special projects at Neuralink.
