    The Information and Broadcasting ministry announced that India and Bangladesh will together present a documentary on the 1971 War of Independence of Bangladesh. Venkaiah Naidu stated that the archival material accessible with Films Division, DD and other media sections of the government would be used to produce the documentary. This documentary is aimed to memorialize the 50th year of Bangladesh Independence in 2021.

    India and Bangladesh join hands for radio diplomacy

    All India Radio announced that it would soon launch Akashvani Maitree, a Bengali service directed towards the Bengali diaspora living across the border. During Bangladesh's war of independence, a similar enterprise had "tremendous success" in 1971. Although the radio signal will be accessible to Indians as well, the service is essentially steered at involving Bangladeshis in intercommunications with India.

    Sangbad Bichitra: A little piece of India in Bangladesh

    Around 1971, programme Sangbad Bichitra was produced for AIR Kolkata to "neutralize" Pakistani propaganda. It was banned in Bangladesh, but people would listen to it secretly.

    Cultural cooperation between India and Bangladesh

    I&B Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Bangladesh Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu after a meeting announced measures for better cooperation in information sector between the 2 countries. The ministry initiated collaborations between National Film Development Corporation of India and Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. India will also promote the production of a 'mega movie' on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 2020.

    India-Bangladesh to counter terrorism

    India and Bangladesh have determined to build a joint working group (JWG) to expedite the flow of information on a real-time basis. The proposed JWG will build a crucial backbone for the counter-terrorism measures in the neighbouring countries. The I&B Ministry said: "The process is already underway. It will not take more than two minutes for the information to be shared".

    The Bangladesh Liberation War

    The Bangladesh War of Independence of 1971 was an armed conflict that led to the independence of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. India had joined the war on 3 December 1971 which led to the final defeat of Pakistan.
