    The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have welcomed their first child into the world on Monday. Meghan Markle has given birth to a baby boy and the same has been reportedly confirmed by Prince Harry himself. This royal baby is the Queen's eighth great-grandchild. The Buckingham Palace earlier announced that Meghan went into labor "in the early hours" of Monday morning. Here's more.

    Baby Sussex, seventh in line to the throne

    Harry and Meghan's child will be the seventh in line to the British throne, reported CNN. Baby Sussex comes after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Prince Harry.

    Harry was by Meghan's side at the time of delivery

    Prince Harry was by Meghan's side when she gave birth to the baby boy. He also made an announcement about the birth of their first child and said that the whole experience was "absolutely incredible". The royal couple is yet to choose a name for their son. According to the Buckingham Palace, the baby was delivered at 5:26 am (local time).

    Baby boy is healthy, confirms Prince Harry

    The Buckingham Palace said the baby boy weighed 7lbs 3oz (3.2kg). Confirming both the mother and the baby were doing "incredibly well," Harry said, "It was amazing. Absolutely incredible. I'm so proud of my wife. It's been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined." He added, "How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we're both absolutely thrilled."

    Here's what the Buckingham Palace announced

    The palace announced, "The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news." "The duchess's mother, Doria Ragland...overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage," it added.

    'We're both absolutely thrilled,' says Harry

    Prince Harry said, "We're both (he and Meghan) absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it's been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody." He added they're still thinking about names for their child.
