Bajaj to wrap up KTM acquisition by mid-November
Bajaj Auto just got the official nod to take sole control of Pierer Mobility AG, KTM's parent company, after investing nearly €800 million (about ₹8,200 crore) to help KTM out of its financial troubles over the past two years.
The deal is set to wrap up by mid-November 2024.
Bajaj will shift production of smaller and mid-sized KTMs to India
Bajaj plans to shift production of smaller and mid-sized KTMs from Austria to India, aiming for lower costs and smoother operations.
The big bikes (above 1290cc) will still be made in Europe because of supply chain limits.
It's all about making KTM more efficient without losing quality.
New senior management at KTM
Bajaj is also bringing in new senior management at KTM as part of its turnaround plan.
This shake-up is meant to get KTM back on track financially and boost Bajaj's presence in the global premium motorcycle scene—making it a bigger player worldwide while keeping their investment secure.
