German automaker BMW is tipped to unveil its iX1 electric crossover soon. It is unclear whether it will arrive in India. In the latest development, the brand has put out a teaser image of the upcoming vehicle, revealing important design details. The picture suggests that the car will sport blue accents, a closed front grille, and headlamps sourced from the iX3.

    Why does this story matter?

The BMW iX1 will be a good-looking car with "dynamic performance values and a long range." A lot of buyers in the international markets should be interested in getting their hands on this four-wheeler. If the vehicle arrives on our shores, it will be a completely built unit (CBU). The competition in the electric car segment will be raised.

The car will have indicator-mounted ORVMs and wrap-around taillights

The BMW iX1 will flaunt a muscular hood with the brand's logo on it, blue accents on the closed kidney grille as well as air vents, and sleek headlights with L-shaped DRLs. On the sides, it will be flanked by B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and designer wheels. A roof-mounted antenna, a window wiper, and wrap-around taillights will be available on the rear end.

It will deliver a range of around 438km per charge

The BMW iX1 will draw power from an electric powertrain, the specifications of which are yet to be revealed. However, the company claims that the vehicle will promise a range of around 413-438km on the WLTP cycle.

The crossover will get a sunroof and multiple airbags

The BMW iX1 is tipped to have a spacious cabin with a sunroof, head-up display, auto climate control, and a multifunctional steering wheel with cruise control. Multiple airbags, a rear-view camera, parking sensors, ABS, and EBD will ensure the safety of the passengers. It will also house a touchscreen infotainment panel with support for the latest connectivity options.

    BMW iX1: Availability

The BMW iX1 will make its debut shortly after the market launch of the all-new X1 model in the international markets. Details pertaining to the car's pricing will be disclosed around that time.
