Gordon Murray S1 LM just sold for over $20 million, smashing auction records

Auto

The ultra-rare Gordon Murray S1 LM supercar made headlines by selling for a staggering $20.63 million at a Las Vegas auction on November 25, 2025. This was chassis number one out of only five being built.
The new owner gets to consult with legendary designer Gordon Murray to personalize the car and even join development sessions with racing champ Dario Franchitti.

Why this car is such a big deal

The S1 LM is inspired by the iconic 1995 Le Mans-winning McLaren F1 GTR and packs a modified 4.3-liter V-12 engine with about 710hp.
Only five will ever exist, making it seriously exclusive. Owners also receive a detailed book filled with sketches and notes from Murray himself.
While all five cars were rumored to have been sold to one person, this auction hints that ownership might be changing hands.
Deliveries are set for 2026, and car fans everywhere are buzzing!
