India will get 23 new car models by March 2027
Big news for car lovers: India's auto scene is getting 23 new models by March 2027, and most of them are electrified.
From fully electric cars to hybrids and plug-in hybrids, automakers are clearly betting on greener rides as more people look for eco-friendly options.
Automakers split between EVs and hybrids
Whether you're after an affordable EV like BYD's Seagull or Maruti Suzuki's Fronx EV, a practical family SUV like Tata's Sierra EV or Toyota's Urban Cruiser Ebella, or want to splurge on luxury with BMW's iX3 and Mercedes's GLC EV, there's a lot coming up.
Automakers are mixing things up too: Tata and Mahindra focus on pure electric platforms while Toyota, Honda, and Maruti Suzuki see hybrids as a stepping stone.
Seven internal-combustion vehicles are also in the mix, so the shift to electric is happening but not all at once.
