Royal Enfield Classic 650 spied testing; design features revealed
Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch three bikes with 650cc twin-cylinder engines in India. In the latest development, one of these three vehicles, the Classic 650, has been spotted testing. The Classic 650 is a roadster that could be a more powerful and premium version of the Classic 350. The spy shots reveal that it will have a retro design.
Why does this story matter?
The Classic 650 is part of the 650 triplets from Royal Enfield that will also include the Super Meteor 650 and the Shotgun 650. A roadster, a cruiser, and a bobber—all three of them will have similar styling but will offer different riding experiences. The Classic 650 is expected to be a double punch combination of good looks and excellent performance.
The bike will ride on dual-tone alloy wheels
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 will feature a retro-styled look with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, long twin exhausts, a low-slung cruiser-like stance, a circular headlamp, flat handlebars, center-set footpegs, a round taillight and headlight, and dual-tone alloy wheels. The two-wheeler should pack a semi-digital instrument cluster with support for Tripper Navigation. It should be offered in multiple color options.
It will be powered by a 47hp, 648cc engine
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 will draw power from a 648cc, twin-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine that churns out 47hp of maximum power and 52Nm of peak torque. The motor will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The two-wheeler will have dual-channel ABS
To ensure the safety of the rider, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 will be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheel, along with dual-channel ABS for improved handling on roads. Suspension duties on the motorbike will be handled by inverted forks on the front side and dual shock absorbers on the rear end.
Royal Enfield Classic 650: Pricing and availability
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is expected to be priced around Rs. 3 lakh (ex-showroom). It should launch alongside the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650 in the coming months.
