What's the story

Chennai-based Royal Enfield has announced that it will launch its Scram 411 motorbike in India this March. To recall, the vehicle has started arriving at dealerships. As for the highlights, the two-wheeler will have a retro-inspired look and shall offer full-LED illumination. It would draw power from a 411cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 24.3hp.

Context

Why does this story matter?

The Scram 411 will debut as the road-biased version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan adventure tourer. However, it should also be suitable for mild off-roading. The vehicle will share its mechanicals with the Himalayan but will get cosmetic updates to set itself apart. It will rival the likes of Yezdi Scrambler, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, and Honda CB350RS.

Design

The motorbike will have spoked wheels and stepped-up seat

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 will have a sloping fuel tank, a stepped-up saddle, a pillion grab rail, an upswept exhaust, a badge plate, and a circular headlight as well as mirrors. The bike will pack a semi-digital instrument console with support for Tripper navigation, an all-LED setup for lighting, and will ride on wire-spoked wheels wrapped in tube-type tires.

Information

It will run on a 24hp, 411cc engine

The Royal Enfield Scram 411 will be fueled by a 411cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine. In the Himalayan, the motor generates a maximum power of 24.3hp at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 32Nm at 4,500rpm.

Safety

It will get telescopic front forks

To ensure the rider's safety, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 will be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the vehicle will be taken care of by telescopic forks on the front side and a mono-shock unit on the rear.
