71% Indian firms seeing real returns from generative AI: Report
A new report says 71% of Indian firms are already seeing real returns from using Generative AI (GenAI), well above the global average of 61%.
The study surveyed leaders in 10 countries and puts India among the top three GenAI adopters worldwide.
Indian companies aren't just experimenting
Indian companies aren't just experimenting. They're actually using GenAI for things like IT operations, data analysis, cybersecurity, software development, customer service, and sales.
Adoption rates in these areas are consistently higher than the global average.
Major efficiency gains, innovation, and financial benefits
77% of Indian firms use AI for code generation (compared with 64% globally), and 76% use AI for code reviews and debugging; a global comparator for code reviews is not specified.
Most companies also report major efficiency gains (94%), more innovation (92%), and better financial results (86%) thanks to GenAI.
Indian organizations plan to allocate more budget to GenAI
Looking forward, Indian organizations plan to put about 28% of their tech budgets into GenAI over the next 12 months (compared to a global average of 22%).
Plus, two-thirds are already using or planning to use agentic AI soon, showing that India's all in on making AI part of everyday business.
