Amaravati Quantum Valley set for 2026 launch
Big news from Andhra Pradesh: the Amaravati Quantum Valley is launching on January 1, 2026. This project aims to spark breakthroughs in everything from governance and healthcare to industry, using quantum computing for real-world impact.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu says it could create over one lakh jobs and boost the state's reputation as a tech leader.
The initiative brings together the state government, TCS, Larsen & Toubro, and India's Department of Science and Technology.
How this quantum hub will work
Amaravati is gearing up to be South Asia's main spot for quantum computing, with an IBM-2 Quantum Computer (the first in the region) packing 156 qubits.
Minister Nara Lokesh highlighted the need for a "quantum-ready" workforce—think special courses at IITs and beyond—while IBM has already trained over 900 Indian faculty members in these new technologies.
TCS also plans to roll out quantum-powered solutions into public services, meaning this hub could shape how tech touches daily life across Andhra Pradesh.
