Bengaluru's Digantara raises $50 million for satellite surveillance, missile tracking

Business

Digantara, a Bengaluru-based space tech startup, just bagged $50 million in Series B funding from new and existing investors like 360 ONE Asset, SBI Investments Co Japan, Ronnie Screwvala, Peak XV Partners, and Kalaari Capital.
With this round, their total funding since starting up in 2020 has hit $64.5 million.

What is Digantara all about?

Founded by Anirudh Sharma, Digantara builds tech to keep an eye on what's happening in space.
Their AIRA platform combines satellites (like SCOT for tracking space junk) with other technologies.
Their first SCOT satellite launched in January 2025 on a SpaceX mission and is already aiding in tracking debris and defense threats, with the company operating in India, the US, and Singapore.

What's next for Digantara?

They're gearing up to launch 15 more surveillance satellites plus two dedicated to missile warnings between March 2026 and October 2027.
The team is investing up to $10 million to expand into the US market and another $3 million for Europe by mid-2026.
There are also plans for new facilities: one in Bengaluru to build 30 small satellites a year, and another in Colorado Springs focused on bigger platforms.
