boAt appoints new CEO ahead of IPO

Business

boAt, the popular audio and wearables brand, just named Gaurav Nayyar as its new CEO.
This move comes right before the company's big IPO launch, now that SEBI has given the green light.
Nayyar steps in at a key moment, having previously served as COO.

Financial turnaround

boAt recently pulled off a major financial comeback—shifting from a ₹74 crore loss last year to a ₹60 crore profit this year (FY25), with revenues hitting ₹3,098 crore.
The turnaround was powered by tight cost control and strong audio sales, even with wearables dipping.

Nayyar's experience

Nayyar joined boAt in 2022 after being a partner at Bain & Company.
With more than two decades of experience across India and beyond, he's known for business transformation skills and growth strategies.

Leadership changes

Nayyar takes over from co-founder Sameer Mehta, who led boAt as CEO in recent years and now moves into an Executive Director role to focus on long-term strategy.
Co-founder Aman Gupta stays on as Non-Executive Director.
