Boeing predicts surge in air travel demand

Boeing just dropped its big 20-year forecast: they think airlines will need 43,600 new aircraft by 2044. Even with economic ups and downs, they see air travel taking off—expecting over 40% more people flying by 2030. Most of this growth is coming from places like China and Southeast Asia.

TL;DR

Single-aisle jets to make up nearly 3-quarters of new planes

Single-aisle jets (think your typical budget airline ride) are set to make up nearly three-quarters of all new planes—about 33,300 out of the total. The rest includes widebody jets, freighters, and regional planes. Nearly half these deliveries will swap out older aircraft for newer, more efficient ones.

Demand for air travel isn't slowing down anytime soon

Even though Boeing's been dealing with supply chain hiccups and quality issues lately, they're still betting big on the future of flying. Their message is clear: despite setbacks now, the demand for air travel—and for new planes—isn't slowing down anytime soon.
