Emami's Q2 results: Revenue down 10%, profit slides nearly 30%
Business
Emami just posted its Q2 results, and things aren't looking too rosy—revenue dropped 10% to ₹798.51 crore, and profit after tax slid nearly 30% compared to last year.
The decline is attributed to various market factors impacting the company's financial performance.
Interim dividend declared despite dismal performance
Even with these numbers, Emami surprised everyone by declaring a 400% interim dividend of ₹4 per share (mark your calendar for November 14 if you're a shareholder).
Domestic sales brought in ₹618.32 crore while international business added ₹180.19 crore.
Their standalone revenue and profit also fell by about 15%, showing that it's been a challenging quarter all around.
