Finnish startup NestAI raises €100 million for defense AI

Business

NestAI, a Finnish startup, just secured €100 million in funding led by Nokia and Tesi (Finland's state investment firm).
The money will fuel their work on "physical AI"—basically, smart tech that blends language models with robotics to power unmanned vehicles and autonomous systems for defense, logistics, security, and surveillance.

Teaming up with big players

NestAI is joining forces with Nokia to combine secure connectivity with advanced AI platforms.
Tesi sees NestAI as a foundational technology partner for mission-critical defense and security environments across Europe.
Meanwhile, Nokia has even launched a new Defense unit to deepen ties with NATO and Five Eyes allies.

Who's behind it?

NestAI is chaired by Peter Sarlin—formerly CEO of Silo AI (which AMD snapped up last year for €615 million).
Sarlin's family office PostScriptum was the startup's first backer.
And just last month, NestAI announced its support for bringing more AI into Finland's own Defense Forces.
