Government to launch digital portal for unclaimed financial assets
Business
The Indian government is developing a new digital portal to help people track down and reclaim forgotten money—like old bank accounts, insurance policies, or mutual funds.
Announced by the Department of Financial Services and coordinated by the RBI, this platform will pull info from banks, insurers, and mutual funds into one searchable interface.
Making it easier to get your money back
This move builds on a campaign that's already helped return ₹1,887 crore since October through local camps.
The unified portal, once launched, will bring everything into one place—including data from RBI's UDGAM portal—so the process of finding and claiming your lost assets is expected to become much simpler and faster for everyone.
