Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had proposed the creation of a working group on sports technology and sports goods manufacturing conclave during last month's BRICS Sports Ministers' meeting in Visakhapatnam.
He had said India would contribute by providing experts from various sports disciplines to this group.
The declaration expressed support for the proposal, recognizing technology's role in improving performance, welfare, governance, and inclusion in sports.
Future plans
Digital transformation, innovation
The declaration also emphasized that once established, the working group would enhance BRICS cooperation in sports science, athlete performance, governance, artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation and innovation.
The sports goods manufacturing conclave is scheduled for November in Udaipur.
It will focus on exchange of technology and innovation while bringing together manufacturers, exporters, investors, among others.

BRICS Sports Cooperation Framework
The declaration also commended the progress made by the BRICS Sports Working Group, including the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in Physical Culture and Sport.
It appreciated the organization of BRICS Games as a high-performance sports platform.
The declaration welcomed dialogue on a BRICS Sports Cooperation Framework, looking forward to its further consideration through established consultation processes among member states.
