Indian workforce leads in GenAI adoption
India tops the charts in generative AI use, with 92% of employees using these tools—much higher than the global average of 72%, says a BCG survey of over 10,600 workers across 11 countries.
The country is also among the leaders in bringing AI agents into daily work.
Many workers feel unprepared to use AI
Even with this surge in adoption, nearly half of Indian employees worry that AI could take their jobs within 10 years.
Only about a third feel properly trained to use these tools well.
Many admit to using AI without official approval, which brings up security issues.
How companies can help employees adapt to new technologies
BCG recommends companies redesign workflows and invest more in training and leadership so everyone can use AI confidently and responsibly.
As people get more comfortable with these technologies, fears may ease—and teamwork could actually get better.
