Manipal Hospitals to add 3,000 beds over next 3 years
Manipal Hospitals, already India's largest hospital group, just announced plans to add 3,000 new beds over the next three years.
With over 13,000 beds in 50 hospitals right now, they're focusing on making care more advanced and complex, with patient experience in focus.
Manipal Hospitals plans Sahyadri integration, expansion
They'll expand by integrating the latest acquisition they had, Sahyadri in Maharashtra, and looking at opportunistic acquisitions in areas of interest to us and geographical expansion in new regions such as Kerala, Hyderabad, and Visakhapatnam.
MD & CEO Dilip Jose says this push is about closing India's huge hospital bed gap: Right now we have only half of what the World Health Organization recommends.
He adds they want better patient care without big price hikes (just 3% to 4% a year), aiming for improving clinical complexity and patient care across the board.
