Microsoft chief communications officer Frank Shaw leaving December 31, 2026
Frank Shaw, Microsoft's chief communications officer, just announced he's leaving the company after 17 years at Microsoft.
He broke the news in a memo to his team, and his last day will be December 31, 2026.
Shaw started at Microsoft after working at Waggener Edstrom and has been a key voice behind the scenes for years.
Shaw helped shape Microsoft messaging
Shaw helped shape Microsoft's messaging during big moments: think Windows and Office launches, plus major acquisitions that changed the company's direction.
Microsoft hasn't named his replacement yet, but says updates are coming soon.
In his farewell note, Shaw referenced Stephen King's "ka-tet" from The Dark Tower series, describing his team as people united by purpose and fate.
He thanked everyone for their teamwork and shared achievements over the years.
