Nxtra Data to raise $1B for data center expansion
Business
Nxtra Data, part of Bharti Airtel, is set to raise $1 billion with help from Alpha Wave Global, Carlyle Group, and Airtel itself.
The goal? To seriously ramp up its data center capacity and nearly double its market share in India's fast-growing digital infrastructure scene, from 12% to 25%.
Nxtra aims to reach gigawatt scale
Nxtra wants to boost its data centers to gigawatt scale.
Right now, it runs 14 core centers and 120 edge sites across 65 cities.
This expansion lines up with Airtel's push for high-tech projects like Google's $15 billion AI hub in Visakhapatnam.
With more people and businesses needing reliable digital services, Nxtra is betting big on meeting that demand head-on.
