An Ola Electric employee, K Aravind, has died by suicide under suspicious circumstances. The incident took place in Bengaluru. An FIR has been filed against Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal and senior officer Subrata Kumar Das for abetment to suicide. The case was registered on October 6 and has come to light now, following the discovery of a 28-page suicide note allegedly written by Aravind.

Note blames seniors for mental harassment
The note, found during a search of Aravind's room, reportedly blames Das and Aggarwal for mental harassment, excessive work pressure, and non-payment of salary and dues. The allegations were cited as reasons for his decision to take his own life. Following the discovery of this note, Aravind's family filed a complaint leading to the registration of an FIR at Subramanyapura Police Station.

Deeply saddened by Aravind's death, says Ola Electric
Responding to the allegations, an Ola Electric spokesperson expressed deep sorrow over Aravind's death. They said, "We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of our colleague, Aravind, and our thoughts remain with his family during this difficult time." The spokesperson further clarified that Aravind had been with the company for over three and a half years without raising any complaints about harassment or employment issues.

Company challenges FIR in Karnataka HC
The spokesperson also revealed that the company had "promptly facilitated the full and final settlement to his bank account" for immediate family support. Ola Electric has challenged the FIR's registration before the Karnataka High Court, which has passed protective orders in favor of the company and its officials. The firm asserted its commitment to cooperating with authorities in their ongoing investigation while ensuring a safe, respectful workplace for all employees.
