OpenAI and Anthropic IPOs could reshape valuation of AI
OpenAI and Anthropic are gearing up to go public, aiming for massive valuations: OpenAI is targeting at least $1 trillion, while Anthropic recently hit $965 billion.
Their IPOs could seriously shift how people see the AI industry, especially since both companies have kept their finances pretty private until now.
Investors to judge AI valuations
For the first time, we'll get a look at what's really fueling AI's rapid growth.
Anthropic reportedly expects its first operating profit of around $559 million on approximately $10.9 billion of second-quarter revenue, while OpenAI raised $122 billion but expects a big loss of $14 billion this year (hoping to turn things around by 2029).
Investors will finally get to judge if these sky-high valuations hold up, and as Interact AI co-founder and CEO Suyash Karn puts it, "October is that moment for AI. Progress is not in question. Price discovery is."
