OpenAI shifts leadership as Brad Lightcap moves, Denise Dresser covers
OpenAI is making some big changes at the top. COO Brad Lightcap is moving to lead "special projects" and will now report directly to CEO Sam Altman.
Denise Dresser, who handles revenue, is stepping in to cover some of his duties for now.
The company says these moves are all about advancing frontier research, growing our global user base of nearly 1 billion users, powering enterprise use cases, and continuity and momentum.
Fidji Simo on leave, Brockman covers
Some leaders are taking time off for health reasons: Fidji Simo, who heads AGI development, is on medical leave with a neuroimmune condition, so co-founder Greg Brockman will step in for product management.
Marketing chief Kate Rouch has stepped down to focus on cancer recovery but hopes to return in a new role when she's ready.
Meanwhile, OpenAI is looking for a new chief marketing officer.
OpenAI affirms mission and continuity
Even with all these changes, OpenAI says it's sticking to its mission: pushing AI research forward and growing its user base.
The team wants everyone to know they're committed to keeping things running smoothly while continuing their work on cutting-edge tech.
