Panasonic India's chairman Manish Sharma resigns after 13 years

Manish Sharma, the Chairman of Panasonic Life Solutions India, has resigned from his position after more than a decade at the helm. He was appointed as the MD and CEO of Panasonic India in 2012 and has been leading the company ever since. Sharma will continue till the end of this year to ensure a smooth transition in leadership.

He plans to reveal his next steps in January 2026 after completing his notice period. Panasonic also acknowledged Sharma's contribution in shaping its business strategy, growth trajectory, and organizational culture in India during his tenure.

Under Sharma's leadership, Panasonic became a strong player in the appliance segment. He was also appointed as an executive committee member of the Japanese parent company, Panasonic Corporation, in 2016. A staunch supporter of the Make in India initiative, he has led the expansion of Panasonic's manufacturing footprint in India over several years.

Sharma also heads the Electronics Manufacturing Committee of FICCI and was instrumental in the first PLI for white goods. He is a member of SCALE, a committee set up by the Indian government to promote local manufacturing and exports. Earlier this year, Panasonic announced its exit from the refrigerator and washing machine segments in India as part of a global restructuring plan.
